Goat Pregnancy Due Date and Kidding Timeline
Goat Pregnancy Calculator
This calculator estimates a doe’s kidding due date and builds a practical timeline from the breeding date. You can also set a reference date (default is today) to see pregnancy progress and how many days remain.
How the due date is calculated
The core calculation is based on adding your chosen gestation length to the breeding date:
\( \text{Due Date} = \text{Breeding Date} + \text{Gestation Days} \)
Because real deliveries vary, the calculator also builds a kidding window around the due date:
\( \text{Window Start} = \text{Due Date} - \text{Window Days} \)
\( \text{Window End} = \text{Due Date} + \text{Window Days} \)
Pregnancy progress
Progress is computed from the difference between your reference date and the breeding date:
\( \text{Pregnancy Day} = \text{Reference Date} - \text{Breeding Date} \)
\( \text{Progress \%} = \left(\frac{\text{Pregnancy Day}}{\text{Gestation Days}}\right)\times 100 \)
If the reference date is earlier than the breeding date, the calculator shows 0 days pregnant to avoid confusing negative progress.
Milestones and planning
The timeline table includes planning milestones such as a return-to-heat check, an approximate last-trimester marker, and preparation steps near the kidding window. Choose Simple for a compact list, or Detailed for a fuller schedule.
Practical guidance
Use this tool as a planning aid rather than a diagnosis. If your reference date is well beyond the end of your kidding window, consider discussing the situation with a qualified professional, especially if you observe abnormal signs or health concerns.
