This calculator helps you estimate a giraffe pregnancy timeline from a known breeding date. It produces an estimated due date, a delivery window, a progress percentage, and a clear milestone table you can export.
What the calculator uses
The calculator starts from your Breeding date and adds an estimated pregnancy length (in days). Because real pregnancies vary, it also provides a lower and upper bound as a delivery window.
Formulas behind the scenes
Estimated due date is computed as:
\[ \text{DueDate} = \text{BreedingDate} + L_{\text{avg}} \]
Delivery window is computed as:
\[ \text{Earliest} = \text{BreedingDate} + L_{\text{min}}, \quad \text{Latest} = \text{BreedingDate} + L_{\text{max}} \]
Pregnancy progress (as of today) is computed as:
\[ \text{Progress(\%)} = \max\left(0,\frac{D}{L_{\text{avg}}}\right)\times 100 \]
Where \(D\) is the number of days between today and the breeding date.
How to use the adjustment field
If you want a slightly earlier or later estimate, use Pregnancy length adjustment. A value of +10 shifts all projected dates 10 days later; a value of -10 shifts them 10 days earlier.
Simple vs detailed timeline
Simple shows major milestones (25%, 50%, 75%, 90%), plus the delivery window and estimated due date. Detailed adds monthly checkpoints to make long pregnancies easier to track, while keeping the table readable and export-friendly.
